Having spent much of his childhood in several states and different countries, artist Kirk Seufert brings a great deal of world experience to his art. Although a practicing attorney by day, creating artwork has been a lifelong interest and sometimes obsession for Kirk.
While he is drawn to natural hues and elements, including metals and glass, Kirk also finds interest in the natural deterioration of man-made structures and objects, often bringing his self-taught
faux-finishing techniques to a wide range of abstract paintings and sculpture.
“Because my interests are so broad, I find it difficult to pinpoint what inspires me, or to accurately articulate what I’m seeking to create in my paintings. However, I do aspire to generate that ‘need for a closer look’ at my pieces, and I am quite flattered by the common question, ‘How do you do that?’ Whether it’s hinting at a face or a figure, or pure abstraction, I seek to invite the viewer for ‘further
inspection,’ if you will, at what may appear to be stone or metal.”
