Product Description

The 1982 skyline of downtown "Music City U.S.A." is truly a pleasing blend of historic and modern Metropolitan Nashville.

Early years of the city's history are represented in the far left of this illustration. Here are portrayed the reconstructed Fort Nashborough (the pioneer settlement of Nashville), and the colorful brick buildings that border on First Avenue. This stone and brick thoroughfare, known at various times as "Front" or "River" Street (because it parallels the Cumberland River) serves as a Northeast boundary for the important marketing and professional area of the city developed there in the 19th century.

The extensive middle portion of the print is occupied by prominent structures of a more recent vintage. They serve ably as "home" to most of today's prominent corporate, financial, insurance and industrial firms headquartered or represented in Nashville. In addition, many members of the professional, legal, church, civic and social elements of the community have offices in this downtown locale. The area also includes several beautiful hotels and many internationally famous tourist and entertainment attractions/facilities.

At far right is the handsome Tennessee State Capitol. From a perch on "the hill", it oversees other well-known governmental buildings occupied by various officials and agencies o the city and state.

Nashville - proud and a fantastic city that belongs to Tennessee, the United States of America...and the world!
