Product Description

In honor of a special lady

“My mother’s favorite flower was the yellow rose. But only recently did I find out why.

During the 100th anniversary celebration of the Suffrage Movement, it was widely noted that the yellow rose was the symbol of that national historic change to voting rules.

Onie Ponder was a suffragist in 1920 and fought for the woman’s right to vote. That year, at age 22, she was able to cast her first presidential vote. She continued to vote in 22 November elections until she died in 2010 at 112 years old. The only exception was in 1936 because, in her words, “Your brother was being born.”

In 2020, I cast my vote for president in memory of that event 100 years ago when my mother celebrated a long overdue privilege.

Congrats, Mom!”
